Next Newsprint Painting - Chickens and Friends

This started with a favorite photo of a pair of chickens, and went from there. I particularly loved painting the armadillo. Done over the 4th of July weekend along with the painting in the previous post.

Approx 21 x 22 inches - acrylic, colored pencils, and ink on page from Chinese local newspaper.*

* I like their page layouts, particularly their cultural/history/arts education pages, and I find the beauty of the characters and their arrangement on the page is what makes me want to paint on these. It helps, too, that I don’t know what’s being said; my imagination runs more freely and formlessly when the song lyrics or printed pages are in a foreign language.
