“Butterflies.” Wonder surrounds children. The universe is all new to them and the universe seems to preen and bask in that attention. Children also have enviable powers of focus when they’re confronted with something new or something that goes straight to their hearts. Mommies foster this, nurture it, give it room.

This was the last I completed in the series because, unfortunately, about the time this image was completed K’s Closet closed due to family changes. They moved out of state and on to other phases of their careers and family life. This was hard for Sharyn, but she’s strong and adapts and continues to make beautiful things wherever she goes. She is still missed here in town, and I am posting these images in part to honor the spirit and creative work that went into K’s Closet and everything Sharyn touched. Thank you, friend, for the opportunity, guidance and invitation to produce these little paintings.
