Grenouillement!

Grenouillement!

Eh voila! Enough grenouilles to satisfy even moi. Grandes et petites, vertes et dorees. Etienne was thinking of his childhood and the “Frogstream” (tellement charmant!) is a bright thing running through.

He still stops and talks to grenouilles everywhere. Recently, when staying overnight before moving the household of his Tante Rose (with the same siblings who appear in this painting), he walked behind the hotel at night, to listen to the major din of the chorus frogs and “banjo frogs” in a tiny pond. A few days before the hurricane Florence the front yard of our house was full of the songs of grenouilles, and Etienne paused to talk with them before entering after work.

It is true that his hair is no longer dark as here in this painting, it is argent tournant au blanc, but he will still crouch and talk to small creatures and plants. It connects him.
