Lion

I really don’t know what to call this one other then Lion… I have several pages of words I wrote down years ago, in columns. Words that make pictures in my head or seem like symbols of other things. I was looking at one of those lists and saw some words together in a group in one part of the page, which included Lion and Stars, and Elephant and maybe Nasturtiums. It resulted in the sketch, below, which then became this painting. 29 ish inches by 21 ish - acrylics and some archival ink on Stonehenge paper.

This is part of a return to acrylics, which I’ve used very little since high school. And this was also painted almost entirely with a brush that was too large for comfort, and I am beginning to understand the value of that advice.
