I took a day off from work to spend it on a solo drawing trip to the North Carolina Transportation Museum, in Spencer. I spent over 6 hours on three drawings, 14 x 17 inches. This is the first, done in an unheated building. It’s of a 1955 American LaFrance ladder truck which was part of the High Point Fire Department’s fleet. I loved the shape of the cab, the lack of roof, and the big light on the poll on the top, and the way the bumper had been through some things…

Pencil (and a little black ink) on Borden and Riley sketch and drawing paper - 11 x 17 inches.
