NC Transportation Museum - Part 3

My favorite engine at the NC Transportation Museum is the big green and beige diesel, # 6900. I look for it in the round house every time I visit, and I always hope it, or the other engine of that same period and paint design, is running the museum’s short rail excursions that day. The day I visited they were running one of the later black boxy diesel engines, so I did not ride the train…

This piece, the words in particular, express some of the my feelings about the passage of time and family.

Last drawing from the trip. Pencil, ink, and colored pencils on Borden and Riley drawing paper, 17 x 14 inches. The train was sketched in during my last hour at the museum (I arrived that day shortly after it opened, and I was one of the last to leave). Color, ink, and writing done weeks later.
